Georgian Forum of the Jewish agency's envoys to the CIS.
15.01.2003 850 Jewish agency's envoys voted in the Knesseth election in Israeli embassies around the world. The highest number of voters has been registered in Georgia, where the annually Forum of the Jewish Agency's envoys to the CIS and Eastern Europe was held. This year's forum topics were aliah and Jewish education. 130 envoys and members of their families voted in Tbilisi, Georgia.
Jewish agency General Director Ghiora Rom has pointed out that the forum gave those living in distant parts of the former Soviet Union, with no Israeli representation, the opportunity to vote.
Out of 850, about 300 voted in the USA, with 1/3 in New York City. 58 voted in London, 40 in Paris, 38 in Buenos Aires, 32 in Canberra, Australia, 28 in Pretoria, the Republic of South Africa, 8 in Istanbul and 3 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
