Israel to actively participate in the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the Northern capital.

The Israeli Vice Prime-Minister Nathan Sharansky, on a work visit to Russia, has announced that the Orchestra of Tel-Aviv Philharmonics will come to the Northern capital for the festivities. Mr. Sharansky has said that Israel will actively participate in the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the Northern capital. A high ranking Israeli delegation will come to Saint Petersburg. Mr. Sharansky has pointed out that the competition for to be included into the delegation has already started.
Mr. Sharansky has suggested that a "Club of Cheerful and Smart" tournament between the teams from Saint Petersburg and Israel, as well as a chess tournament, be included into the agenda of the festivities. The Israeli Vice Prime-Minister has said that he is sure that Israeli chess players will win and that he himself would like to participate.
Just a few days ago, Nathan Sharansky was appointed Head of the Israeli delegation for the preparation of the 300th anniversary of Saint Petersburg. On Thursday, he has arrived in Saint Petersburg to discuss with the Northern capital's Governor Vladimir Yakovlev the agenda of the city's jubilee festivities.
