                  24.01.2003

In Mongolia which population has never been interested in the history and life of Jews, a web-site dedicated to Israel and Jews is to be opened. The site will appear due to the work undertaken by "Mongol-Jewish cooperation" organization and by its leader Sumati Luvsandendev. "I wanted to start a site where the Mongols would be able to find information on Israel, in the Mongolian language", he pointed out in a telephone interview to JTA news agency.
A few interesting facts on Sumati Luvsandendev. He is 47, his father is a Mongol, mother is a Jew born in Latvia. A Moscow State University graduate, Sumati returned to Mongolia and created a sociology survey company. He says, "We, Jews of Mongolia, are not numerous. We could hardly be called a Diaspora. Those Mongols who are interested in the life of Israel enter "Mongol-Jewish cooperation" organization. There is no anti-Semitism in the country".
