"Shalom" Moscow Jewish theatre will perform in Yekaterinburg for the first time.

                  27.01.2003

"Shalom" Moscow Jewish theatre will perform for the first time in Yekaterinburg on February 10. It will present the play "Stuffed Wish With Garnish".
"Apelsin" information agency reports that "Shalom" is the only professional Jewish theater in Russia. The theater is directed by the Honored artist of Russia Alexander Levenbuk.
After the State Jewish Theatre was destroyed by the Soviet government in 1949, "Shalom" is the first and only theater of the kind. The plays by the "Shalom" theatre deal with urgent issues of the Jewish life in Russia and abroad. The plays are diverse in their content and artistic realization. They contain a lot of music, dance, and of course, humor, the thing a Jewish theater cannot do without. The theater has already performed with great success in the USA, Germany, Israel, Canada, Romania, Belgium, and in many cities and towns of Russia and the CIS.
