Tel-Aviv became less expensive to live in.
29.01.2003 In the list of the World's most expensive cities annually compiled by the editors of the prestigious British "The Economist", Tel-Aviv's position has improved. Currently the city is occupying the 39th place. Two years ago, the city was number ten. Different factors, including such as the cost of living and prices in restaurants and hotels, determine the place a city occupies. The economic recession in Israel has provoked the reduction of prices, resulting is Tel-Aviv's becoming a less expensive city. The list is currently headed by two Japanese cities, Tokyo and Osaka. Although loosing four notches to number eleven, New York City is still the most expensive one in North America. In the final edition of the list, Paris has replaced Tel-Aviv at number ten.
