Israel asks to take all the necessary measures to prevent clashes between the nationalities.
08.02.2003 The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel, responsible for the Jews living abroad, has expressed fear that the war in Iraq might trigger mass disorders and pogroms by the Muslim population. Currently, twenty thousand Jews not assimilated with the local population live in Uzbekistan, being an easer target for all sorts of provocations. Owing to the situation, Israel has asked the government of the republic to take all necessary measures to avoid clashes between the nationalities.
