India: immigration to Israel on the rise.
20.02.2003 The Indian Jewish community, one of the oldest in the world, is decreasing rapidly. Currently, the total number of its members is only 4 000; ten years ago this number made 80 000. Speaking about the increasing immigration to Israel, Abram Iakov Avaskar, the treasurer of the "Alibagi Magen Abot" synagogue has pointed out, "India is our Motherland; however, Israel is our Motherland, too".
