More than 9 000 ethnic schools keep working in the Russian Federation.
21.02.2003 Nowadays, the state education system of the Russian Federation includes over 9 000 ethnic schools where subjects are taught in 80 languages of different ethnical groups populating Russia. It was announced in the statement of the Minister of Ethnic Affairs of Russia Vladimir Zorin, dedicated to the International Day of Mother Tongue observed in February 21 at the suggestion of the UNESCO.
Minister Zorin also said that, nowadays radio programs in Russia are broadcast in 56 languages, and TV programs
