                  The agreement between China and Israel is aimed to increase cooperation.

                  The agreement on cooperation in the fields of science and culture was signed between Israel and China on February 24. The agreement valid till 2005 provides for several joint projects in the fields of culture, art, film industry, TV and education.
                  Signing the agreement, the Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs' representative Dan Kairam expressed hopes that the effective cooperation in the fields of culture and science would "contribute greatly to increasing mutual understanding between the two nations".
                  Diplomatic relations between Israel and China were established in 1992. The first "science and culture cooperation" agreement was signed May 20, 1993. The Xinhua News Agency has announced that agreement signed today will allow considerable widening of the future cooperation possibilities.
