Representatives of Krasnoyarsk Jewish Religious Union accused a Legislative Assembly deputy of stirring up interethnic conflicts

                  03.03.2003

Representatives of Krasnoyarsk Jewish Religious Union accused Oleg Paschenko, a deputy of the Territory's Legislative Assembly, of stirring up interethnic conflicts, and, in particular, of having negative attitude toward the Jewish people.
Yuriy Livshits has said that Paschenko, the editor of the popular "Krasnoyarsk Newspaper", has, on numerous occasions, allowed publishing articles urging to kick "the kikes" out and not to let them occupy posts in the Territory's administration. The Jews of Krasnoyarsk hold Paschenko's acts morally unacceptable, for under no circumstances a person entrusted with power and elected by the people to protect the people's interests, can incite ethnic groups one against another.
