Josef Kobzon's concert canceled in Minsk.
24.03.2003 Josef Kobzon canceled his concert in Minsk. The President of the "World-wide Association of Byelorussian Jews" NGO Yakov Guttmann announced the cancellation.
Yakov Guttmann said that Josef Kobzon took the decision following the address by a group of prominent Byelorussian scientists and art people. The address was caused by the manifestations of anti-Semitism in the country, such as "the destruction of the synagogues in Dimitrova and Nemiga streets" in Minsk, as well as the profanation of the Minsk Common Military cemetery, where the Russian and Soviet soldiers killed in the two world wars are buried.
