                  "Young Scientists" contest held in Jerusalem.

                  Ten repatriates from the CIS participated in the "Young Scientists" contest held last month in the Bloomfield Museum of Science in Jerusalem. Held on Einstein's birthday, for the sixth time in a row, the contest is aimed to encourage young Israeli scientist, creators of original ideas. The contest is jointly held by the Museum of Science and "Intel" company and is supported by the Education Ministry.
                  Ever since the times of the first contest, twenty per cent of the participants are the repatriates from the CIS. Three winner of the contest receive the "Intel" award. In addition, the winners can participate in similar contests in the USA and EU.
                  This year's winners are Ofer Kaputa, Maxim Eisenstadt, and Slomi Fruchter (Engineering Department of Tel-Aviv University), inventors of a totally new engine. The President of Israel Moshe Katzav presented the awards.
                  Boris Pigovskiy, 18, a student in Loe Bekh school in Haifa and the winner of the last year's Israel contest, won the fourth place in the international version organized by "Intel" company in Louisville, Kentucky, USA. Boris Pigovskiy represented Israel.
                  Boris Pigovskiy also received the American Mathematics Society encouragement prize for his work on new approaches to solving a difficult geometrical problem which remains unsolved for more than a hundred years now.
