The gatherings commemorating the Jewish illegal immigration held in Atlita.

                  14.04.2003

More than 1200 young people aged 17-22, all participants of the "Sokhnut" Jewish agency's youth program, took part in the event commemorating the Jewish illegal immigration to Palestine, then under the British mandate. The youth gatherings commemorating the Jewish illegal immigration to Eretz Israel are traditionally held in the coastal town of Atlita, in the territory formerly belonging to a camp where the British authorities kept the Jews who were trying to illegally get into Israel from Europe. Now this territory belongs to the Museum of the Illegal Aliah.
