The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan denied the statement, that Kabul was to settle relations with Israel.
16.04.2003 The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan has denied the statement that Kabul intended to normalize relations with Israel.
The refutation was made after the press-secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel, Pron Prozor, informed that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, Abdulla Abdulla, had declared his country intended to cooperate with every peaceful state. Prozor did not specified, when and where such statement had been made.
The head of the Afghani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has emphasized no diplomatic relations ever existed between these two countries. "Neither the government of Afghanistan nor its official representatives contacted representatives of Israel or made any statements, neither now nor in the past", informed the official statement from Kabul.
Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan have their own version to explain why Israel drew this conclusion. Recently the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan has requested countries-members of the United Nations, including Israel, to petition for the representation of Kabul in the UNESCO commission under the United Nations.
Abdulla Abdulla has once again specified that Afghanistan is ready to cooperate with all peaceful countries. Though offers to "make friends" should be made in the official way, instead of speaking for press, - informs MIGnews.com.
