First time, when celebration of Pesakh was a remarkable event in Bryansk region.
21.04.2003 It was the first time for Bryansk region, when celebration of Pesakh was a noticeable event not only for Judaic Community but for the other people of the city and region as well.
On the threshold of the celebration posters with congratulations and invitations to get kosher matzoth from Israel were pasted up. Local inhabitants of the regions were getting prepared for the celebration too. Such Chiefs of Jewish Communities as Mr. Max Pinskiy from Klintsi, Mr. Vladimir Reznikov from Novozybkov, Mr. Mikhail Husakov from Surazh and Mr. Vladimir Bolotin attended a seminar in Bryansk on the 8th of April. Mr. Yitzhak Roytman, Rabbi of the city of Bryansk and Bryansk region, advised the Chiefs on how to conduct a seder and gave them illustrated editions containing history of the celebration, prayers and motets. The participants of the seminar also met with Mr. Nickolay Rivkind, Chief of Bryansk Judaic Community, and Mrs. Tatiana Rivkind, Manager of Community's Press-Center. A midday meal was cooked for the guests.
On the eve of the celebration students of a Jewish school and foster children of a kindergarten attached to the school also held practical classes on preparing for the Holiday. Foreign guests and young rabbis Mr. Levi Pink from Manchester (England) and Mr. Yankee Asher from New York (the USA) helped the kids. The guests took part in cooking matzo with following all of the traditions together with the children.
