                  Solemn ceremony of opening European Bureau of World's Congress of Russian Speaking Jewry.

                  At the end of April, a solemn ceremony of opening the European Bureau of the World's Congress of Russian Speaking Jewry was held in the downtown Berlin. The opening ceremony was attended by the Chief Rabbi of Russia Berl Lazar (FEOR), leaders of Jewish communities form Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Latvia, Kazakhstan, the Czech Republic, Germany, the USA; the representatives of different organizations: the members of the WCRSJ's Coordination Council, Knesset Russian speaking members, Bundestag members, famous public figures.
                  The Honorary Guest from the German side was the Chairman of the Central Council of the Jewish Communities of Germany Paul Spiegel. The bureau was inaugurated by the Chairman of the Board of the WCRSJ's European Bureau Dmitriy Feldman and the WCRSJ Europe's Executive Director Larissa Sysoyeva.
                  A group of Russian senators led by the Head of the Federation Council's Internal Affairs committee Mikhail Margelov was to come to great the participants of the ceremony. Mikhail Margelov is the vice-president of the Parliament Assembly of the Council of Europe; he is also the Middle East conflict PACE contributor.
                  The leaders of the European Bureau of the Congress hope that the it will become a real home for the Russian speaking Jews of Germany and Europe; that it will be a center for getting together and socializing, a center for new initiatives that, nevertheless, will keep and preserve the best of the old traditions. The European Bureau will permanently keep in touch with the German Association of Russian Compatriots.
