Israel's Arkia Airlines to start regular flights to Tashkent in July.
30.04.2003 The Israeli Arkia Airlines and the Uzbek Airlines have reached an agreement, under which the Israeli side will carry out regular flights to Tashkent, starting in July. The Uzbek Airlines management representatives have informed RUJEN that, in Tashkent, the Israeli passengers will have a chance to transfer to flights to Thailand, India, and Vietnam. The Ministry of Transportation of Israel handed over the right to carry out the flights between Tel-Aviv and Tashkent to the Arkia Airlines. Previously, the flights had been carried out by the Uzbek Airlines. The Arkia Airlines carries up to 1,500,000 passengers annually. The Uzbek Airlines also announced that, due to the military actions in the Persian Gulf region, the Eurocontrol commission had applied changes into several air routes.
