Israel's State Controllers points out at state institutions' insufficient work when dealing with citizens' appeal

                  30.04.2003

The report by the State Controller Eliazar Goldberg, among other things, reads that the work done by the state institutions when dealing with appeals by regular citizens, especially recently repatriated, is not sufficient enough. It is pointed out that inexcusable long queues often appear at the offices of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Absorption, the National Social Security Service, the Vehicle Registration Department; that is, those organizations which are primarily visited by new Israeli citizens. The reason is that the admission hours are not convenient for the people. The State Controller has also pointed out at the unsatisfactory attitude of the officials of the bodies mentioned above towards the people. When asked by RUJEN why so much attention was given this time to the problems of the newly arrived, Eliazar Goldberg's office representatives replied that the State Controller holds the improving of the officials' attitude towards the problems and needs of the newly arrived an important segment of the absorption process, that is the process of the repatriates' integration into the Israeli society.
