300 sessions at festival of learning
25.05.2003 AN extraordinary selection of 300 lectures, seminars and workshops will be on offer at the festival of Jewish learning and culture which goes by the name of Limmud-Oz.
Patterned on the British concept known as Limmud, this is the third time that Limmud-Oz is being held, with 500 participants already registered and about 12 sessions due to run on the hour every hour.
Organised by The Shalom Institute, the festival will be held at the University of NSW on the June 7-9 weekend.
"Limmud means learning in Hebrew," said project co-ordinator Nicky Lenny. "We hold this event every second year. In 1999 the inaugural Limmud-Oz, we had 500 people. By 2001, we had grown to 700. This year we are hoping for even more.
