At the meeting, a series of issues of concern to the Jews of Azerbaijan were discussed, such as the creation of new working places, for more than 11,000 Mountain Jews have become guest-workers over recent years. Semen Ikhi'iov informed Idayat Orudgev that the Jews are involved to vote for acting President Geydar Aliyev at the upcoming Presidential elections. However, more than 50,000 Jews in Azerbaijan would like to have their own representative in the Millimajilis (parliament) of the state.
