New Jewish community centre in Karaganda.
10.06.2003 A new Jewish community center called "Shemesh" was opened in Karaganda. The presentation was attended by the President of the Association of the Jewish Organizations of the RK "Mitsva", the Chairman of the Council of the Republican Hesed Alexander Baron, the director of the "Polina" Hesed Natalia Dorman, the directors of the heseds and community centers from Petropavlovsk, Kokshetau, Pavlodar, Ust-Kamenogorsk, and Astana. The opening ceremony had been preceded by a meeting between the leadership of the Jewish community and the deputy chairman of the akim of the Karaganda region, Eral Tugzhanov, who greeted the participants of the presentatio.
