Statement of the Russian Jewish Congress concerning the destruction of the Jewish cemetery in Grodno.
07.07.2003 The Russian Jewish Congress has issued a statement concerning events developing in the town of Grodno (Belarus), where a unique urban Jewish cemetery is being exposed to barbarous destruction. The corresponding reference was addressed to Alexandr Lukashenko, the president of Belarus; Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, Israeli politicians and European and American Jewish Leaders.

The Russian Jewish Congress expresses indignation in connection with developments in Grodno (Belarus), where a unique urban Jewish cemetery is being exposed to barbarous destruction. The expansion and modernization of a stadium nearby is being made at the expense of the cemetery
