Rabbi Adolf Shaevich meets with Moscow mayor at summer

The meeting between Rabbi Adolf Shaevich and the Moscow Mayor Yuriy Luzhkov was planned for the end of August. The leaders were to discuss two key issues. First, the 100-year anniversary of the Moscow Choral Synagogue, which will be celebrated in the year 2006. For this event, many ceremonies have been planned, and Mr. Shaevich will invite Mr. Luzhkov to head the steering committee.
The second issue to be discussed during the meeting is the Jewish museum. The Constituent Congress of the museum founders was held in May, and now the question remains of where the museum will be located, and if land will be allotted for the museum
