50-Year Anniversary of Yad-va-Shem in Jerusalem.
17.09.2003 The celebration of the 50-year anniversary of Yad-va-Shem, to commemorate the catastrophe of European Jewry in the Second World War, took place in Israel.
The reception was presided over by Moshe Katsav, the president of Israel, Ariel Sharon, the prime minister of Israel, and Reuven Rivlin, the speaker of the Knesset, at the Warszawa ghetto square, where the memorial complex is located.
Former prisoners in Nazi concentration camps, people who saved Jews, and various foreign delegations representing the Jewish Diaspora were present at the celebration.
