Reuven Rivlin, the new President of the State of Israel, sent to Julius Meinl, the President of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, a letter of thanks for the congratulations on his election.
Let us remind, that on June 10, immediately after Rivlin’s election as the head of the Jewish state, EAJC President sent him a greeting, in which, inter alia, stated: “Your vast political experience and high moral authority is a pledge that the institute of Israeli Presidency will adopt its high importance to the Jewish state and strengthen the position of Israel in the region and worldwide. We’d like to assure you of the support of the Jewish state by the Jews of Eurasia, and we do hope the principle of "strong Diaspora — strong Israel" will continue to work for the Jews, no matter where they live.”
In his reply, President Rivlin thanked "for the kind words of congratulations."I am honored by my recent appointment and will do everything in my power to continue to serve my country with utmost dedication. I am also grateful to our friends across the world for joining me in this celebration and hope that our cooperation over the years to come will only grow stronger”, said in a letter of the President of Israel.
