EAJC Grieves for Hostages Killed in Paris
11.01.2015, Region The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) expresses its deepest condolences to the families of the victims of Islamist terrorist seizure of hostages in Paris.
Not for the first time in recent years, representatives of the Jewish community in Western Europe have become targets of terrorist attacks by Islamist extremists. The tragic pattern is seen in the fact that the villain chose the visitors of a Jewish store as a victims. Following the journalists of the satirical weekly, personified unacceptable for assassins Western freedom, terrorists poured out their hatred for another eternal enemy – the Jews.
EAJC notes with concern that under the growing threat of Islamist terrorism the Jewish minority in European countries actually turned out to be a high-risk group. There is no doubt that a significant role in the deterioration of this situation played a relentless anti-Israel propaganda and constant attempts to delegitimize the Jewish state. We want to believe that the Jewish population will not be held hostage to political conformity.
EAJC hopes that the law enforcement agencies of Western countries objectively assess the level of terrorist threats and will make the necessary efforts to protect Jewish communities.
EAJC is mourning together with the entire Jewish world, and hopes that the blood of innocent victims will not spill over.
