The EAJC statement regarding the terrorist attack in Copenhagen
16.02.2015, Region Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) expresses condolences to the families of the victims of the terrorist attacks on members of the Jewish community and the participants of the discussion meeting "Art, blasphemy and freedom of speech" in Copenhagen.
Following the Islamist terrorists attacked the satirical weekly editorial office and kosher shop in the French capital, Danish murder assaulted advocates of freedom of speech and the representatives of the Jewish minority, thereby reaffirming their status as the main enemies of Islamism.
EAJC Expresses deep concern by the increasing of terrorist attacks that keep in fear the Jewish communities of Europe. Numerous instances of hatred towards Jews testify the serious trouble. The last fact – an outrageous case of vandalism at the Jewish cemetery in Surry Yunon (France), where 400 tombstones were damaged and desecrated with swastikas and Nazi slogans.
A series of terrorist attacks by Islamist extremists is an open challenge to the European values, and the Jews of Europe are also victims of this process. EAJC again calls upon governments and social forces around the world to recognize a common threat and unite in the fight for its eradication.
