06.06.2015, Community Life The EAJC-supported annual children’s summer camp for children has begun its work in Almaty. The camp focuses on socially-vulnerable families from the city of Almaty and the surrounding region. Approximately 50 children have already signed up, and events focusing on education, entertainment, and a healthy way of life are waiting for them. The children will have access to a swimming pool, a cinema, a zoo, and theme parks, as well as study Jewish history and art. A psychologist will also be present on the premises to work with those who need it.
EAJC Presidium member, head of the Jewish community of Kazakhstan said at the opening ceremong: “We are all here today thanks to the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress. I would like to wish all of the children and their parents - the parents especially, as knowledge enters the house through children - a fruitful summer. We have many things ahead of us. There will be a mountain camp for 50 people, then a children’s festival, then a family camp. A long and interesting summer awaits!”
