EAJC Secretary General took part in "Limmud-Moscow" jubilee conference
18.04.2016, Community Life Prof. Michael Chlenov, Secretary General of Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) took part in the 10th anniversary conference "Limmud-Moscow-2016", which took place in "Klyazma" boarding house near Moscow. The conference brought together more than 2,000 participants.
EAJC Secretary General moderated a "round table" on "Dialogues about the main point: Interfaith meeting" on the role of religion in modern society. The discussion was attended by representatives of Russian Orthodoxy, Catholicism, Islam and Judaism. Chlenov delivered a lecture on "Jews in the Indian Ocean." He spoke about the Jews of Mauritius – a former British colony, now an independent state, which is almost the only country in the African region, where a new Jewish community emerged in the last decade.
In the report "Anti-Semitism in Russia and in the World," prof. Chlenov analyzed the character and tendencies of anti-Semitic in the three geopolitical spaces: in Western Europe (the old EU), in the former socialist countries (new EU) and in the CIS countries.
