Michael Chlenov, Secretary General of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) welcomed participants of the Jerusalem Day celebrations in Moscow "Hermitage" garden.
The celebration, organized by the Jewish Agency for Israel and the Russian Jewish Congress (RJC) in partnership with a number of local Jewish organizations, was attended by numerous guests. They were welcomed by Bilana Shahar, Head of the "Jewish Agency" in Russia and the CIS, Yuri Kanner, President of the RJC, Zvi Heifetz, the Israeli ambassador to Russia, Yevgeny Gerasimov, Head of the Moscow City Duma Commission on Culture and other public persons.
Welcoming the participants of the event on behalf of the communities, members of the EAJC, Mikhail Chlenov stressed that Jerusalem is of paramount importance for the Jews, “whether they live in Kosovo or India, Montenegro or Japan, Russia or Kazakhstan – faithful to the country of birth, they keep in their hearts the love for Jerusalem”.
