The annual academic camp “Sambation” will begin work On August 19, 2016, in Kobuleti, Georgia. The camp is held with the support of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, JAFI, the Genesis Foundation, “Amuta” NGO (Kharkiv), as well as academic and educational institutions of Israel, Russia, Georgia, Ukraine, and other countries.

The concept of the camp includes three main elements:
• In-depth lectures and seminars on areas dedicated to areas where Jewish and global culture meet: philosophy and mysticism, ancient and contemporary literature, art, music, and cinema, anthropology, geography, and history.
• Creative projects in philosophy, art, science. Work on these projects is commenced in groups initiated by the participants themselves and supported by experts in the appropriate fields.
• Learning about local history and culture, hiking and swimming in the sea, sports and friendly conversation.

Teachers in the camp include scholars of Jewish and global culture: philosophers, philologists, historians, artists, musicians, filmmakers from Israel, the USA, Russia, Ukraine, and other countries. The preliminary results of the camp’s work will be presented in mini-festivals and reports in Batumi on August 28, as well as later in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kyiv, Jerusalem, and other countries.
