Day of Peace in Moscow
27.09.2016, Community Life The activists of the Jewish women's organization "Project Kesher", a member of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC), celebrated the International Day of Peace. In the framework of international project "The way to an agreement," they organized in Moscow, Kislovodsk, Vladikavkaz, Ryazan, Volgograd, Yekaterinburg and Mytischi special events, which were attended by representatives of different ethnic communities.
In Moscow, a ceremony organized on this day by near the Kremlin was attended by thirty women of different nationalities from Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Poland and the United States. "We join the" Project Kesher" as messenger of peace. Peacemaking begins with you, with every smile, every gesture of caring for each other," – said a spokeswoman for the American delegation Keren Gershon.
Svetlana Yakimenko, director of "Project Kesher", member of the EAJC General Council encouraged women of all nationalities to work together for the peace-making ideas into reality. "A woman with her warmth, friendliness and responsiveness should and can make a better world", she said.
The event ended with the laying of flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Alexander Garden.
