European Camp begins work in Lviv
07.08.2017, Region On August 4, the unique European Camp for children and teenagers project began work in Lviv. The project is implemented by the Congress of National Communities of Ukraine with the support of the EAJC Kyiv office, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and others.
Children from various regions of Ukraine, including the Anti-Terrorist Operation Zone and children of internally-displaced persons from the Luhansk and Donetsk regions and the Crimea, as well as children from Moldova and Georgia will learn about contemporary European values, the culture and traditions of European countries.
The European Camp is a unique educational space whose main goal is to rear the next generation with European values in mind. This is the goal of most of its activities. The children are immersed in the world of European values, actively participate in democratic procedures such as elections and self-government, create laws (the Camp Consitution), learn how to build a competitive market economy, learn the meaning of social responsibility and an ecologically-sound approach to solving current problems. They also participate in various events.
A training workshop for councillors of the European Camp took place on August 1-3. EAJC Program Committee Chairman, Executive Vice President of the Congress of National Communities of Ukraine Josef Zissels participated in the workshop.
