Armenia
The Armenian republic is the legal successor of the Armenian SSR. It has an area of 29,8 km2, and a population of 3,240 million. The Armenian constitution was adopted on July 5, 1995, by a referendum.
The head of the state is a president elected for five years in general elections. The current President is Serzh Sargsyan, elected in April 2008. Legislative power is in the hands National Assembly. The deputy powers are for a term of four years.
